Dubai City Tour an Experience the Heaven on Earth

Tuesday, 28 May 2013

I had been to Dubai recently. It tempted me so much, so I put this small note for all to see and do tour in Dubai. The tour company was providing much of the Dubai Tourist information you need to know and organizing tours in Dubai during our Dubai city tour with lots of fun.

People give different names to the Arabic name Dubai, but there is no word that gives the exact meaning to the word “Dubai”. Whereas, there is another belief that the name is derived from the word Dhobhai, originated from the Indian national language Hindi. This could be so because India and the emirates have been long time trading partners and still the favourite trading partners.Whatever name you call it, Dubai it is a great place.

I am narrating my experience while I was in Dubai. I have seen so many great things. I being an architectural engineer, this trip gave me so much knowledge and experience. There is no city in the world with so many skyscrapers each one unique and exquisite. I wondered as to how a country with vast expanses of desert and extreme climatic conditions for six months, could build a city so wonderful.  It is unbelievable that any leadership can do so much in such a small span of time.  In the early years of development, Dubai very much supported its growth with the immense oil money but the city no longer depends on oil money. One should give most of its credit to Sheikh Rashid bin al Maktoum, the  great visionary who laid the foundation stone for building this great emirate. There are so many things you would find, first of its kind in the whole world, but a country with scarce resources has taken financial assistance from petrol rich Kuwait to that build the Jebel Ali  free zone. That became a stepping-stone of its growth and today Dubai is considered as the greatest city in the whole world.

This is one of the cities that attracts and grasps you like a magnet, because it is safe, secure, clean  and with  six months of the best climates in the whole world. There are so many things to see here, not just my interest, the architecture.  I may suggest you to go and see the rich heritage and culture of this Arab emirate, which may start with a visit to the Bastakia. This word is derived from the name given to a group of tribes who migrated from Iran and gave a new architecture, which turned to be a cooling system for this emirate. Then take a visit to the beautiful museum with at least 50 years of well-preserved history, then cross the creek with an abra, enjoy the ride and land at the Spice and Gold souk. Here, you do get some special spices from the South East Asian countries and Africa. Walk towards the gold souk and please do not miss to visit the diving village and the heritage village. These 2   give u a complete information about the life of the emirates during the pre oil period and those buildings in the heritage village are preserved by the UNESCO as a listed world heritage site.

Now, let us talk about modern Dubai. Dubai is indeed modern and grown so much.  I am sure most of the world cities will take a century or more to reach the level of Dubai. I had also been to the Palm island, I would say that the quantity of rocks and marine sands used to build the Palm island ,is so much, to indeed  make this island as the 8th wonder in the world. Not far from the Palm island, you will visit the first 7 star hotel, the Burj al arab and get wonder struck as you see this great monument. Approximately 6kms from here or a 10 mins drive, we reach the BurjKhalifa, the tallest builing in the world. It is a stunning view and incredible that money can do so much. Attached to it, is the famous Dubai mall, a huge shopping mall under one roof with all the latest amenities. Also, visit the ruler’s palace and so much more through this trip of Dubai City Tour and experience the heaven on earth.

Dubai City Tour - You have a Lot of Things to See

Wednesday, 22 May 2013

The city of Dubai has changed totally over the past decade; it has changed the outlook of the whole country as a whole. I recall 25 years back when I came to this city as a tourist, when the destination was not so popular among the tourists; it is impossible to believe that this is the same city, I visited earlier. It is a fact that almost everything is changed; including the buildings most of them are not existing or replaced with high rise structure. I still remember when I came first time I was taken to the top of the then tallest building, the World Trade Centre, which was the tallest until the beginning of year 2000. It gave me a lot of surprise, when I visited the tallest building, which is in Dubai the Burj Khalifa from there I noticed that the Word trade centre is the smallest building among all in that area. I believe that no other city in this world has grown up in the past one decade as much as the city of Dubai. Dubai has taken its place in the list of world’s most beautiful cities.

This great achievement is achieved through the efforts of those great leaders to transform this desert land to a leading city. You have a lot of things to see- the culture, the heritage, the world’s most leading architectural work, the man-made island that looks like a palm tree, which is considered as the 8th wonder of the world, the Burj Al Arab, the first 7 star hotel on earth, Burj Khalifa the tallest building on earth… there are many more things to do. This makes the city to the best in the world.

This is a country with no rain and soil, but the authorities put all the efforts to keep it green by making gardens and parks by pouring millions of gallons of water, where water costs more than petrol. It is one of the cleanest cities in the world, one should give all the credit to the work of the municipalities to keep the city clean, where many desert storms bring sands into these beautiful boulevards.

I feel proud to see that the country is bidding for the World Expo 2020 and it deserves it, because hard work and efforts put in by the leader of this country must be appreciated.

At this turbulent and difficult global economic situation, Dubai City Tour keeps all its efforts to keep its GDP Growth growing, without posing any difficulties to its citizens and residents. The Emirate is spending so much of money to maintain its beauty and growth. It is really worth to do a tour of Dubai that gives you a lot of knowledge and to see the unseen.

I really appreciate the way tours done - well-structured and well crafted, that covering both ancient as well as high-tech modern city of Dubai. The museum built in a 17th century fort, which is remarkable, the bastakiya-the ancient cooling system developed by early migrants of Iran, outside visit of ruler’s palace. There are 100 of things to the tourist interest.

I wish all the emirates to create more great things that when I come once again to this country I must feel surprised with its great achievements. You call my experience as Tours in Dubai: - Dubai City Tour: - Dubai Tourist Information, but it is really worth.

Dhow Cruises Dinner in Dubai Don’t Miss to Do While You are in Dubai

Monday, 20 May 2013

I had been for a Dhow cruise Dinner a few days back. I felt like I was walking through the ages when oil was not discovered in this country which depended on pearl hunting for a life supported by the camel. Our cruising started from the creek in a wooden boat known as dhow which is an Arabic word. The same such dhows were used by ancient Portuguese sailors for exploring new lands around the world. These dhows were later transforming to fine boats with first class dining facilities like a 5 star restaurant, floating on the water.

Dubai Dhow Cruises DinnerWe were picked up at about 06.30 Hrs. in the evening, we reached the creek side in a few minutes, and we were on board. We were greeted with the traditional Arabic hospitality and traditional fruit drinks. Dhow cruising is so popular and every tourist who comes to Dubai does this program. I noticed that the dhow was full, with many nationalities enjoying the trip. Soon this floating restaurant started cruising the beautiful scenes of Dubai modern as well as the traditional architectural construction on either side of the creek.

I could see old Dubai meeting the modern Dubai while enjoying this trip. There was a live show called “Tanoura” dance show in the dhow, it was a great entertainment during the trip. The journey continues through the silent moments of the program. I moved my place to the open upper deck, it was indeed romantic to enjoy the murmuring cool breeze from the gulf of Arabia while sipping some of my favorites drinks.

Then it was time for the dinner, a perfect dinner in a superb setup more like a five star restaurant- well uniformed staff, silver cutleries, crystal crockeries, made our dinner so remarkable that we enjoyed every moment of the program.  The prices were so affordable and really it is worth for the price. Such a fabulous dinner at just half the price of 5 star hotels. The buffet dinner offered in the dhow was so nice, it was an international cuisine but more to the oriental styled starters and salad and a dessert but the main course was absolutely prepared on continental style. I would give all full marks to the Dhow Cruise Dinner in Dubai A Real Romantic Experience.

The cruising was around two hours when we docked our dhow while the cars were waiting to take us back to the hotel. It is indeed a great evening; I would definitely recommend this program to all of you. Please do not miss to do a dhow cruising while you are in Dubai.

Desert Safari Dubai Experience Every Tourist Love to Do

Desert Safari Dubai
The desert safari Dubai is something that every tourist love to do it and it is no doubt that this is the best program, but you must select the right agency, which perform the program that exceeds your expectation.

I been for a perfect desert safari in Dubai, a few days ago, I felt it is worth for the money I paid, but with another agency I lost my one day- as we booked our program initially with hotel travel desk.

I would like to share my experience with all of you because it is very important that one must understand the destination and its tourism. I came to Dubai with friends for a short break, we have booked our hotel with an agent in UK, but we did not book any of the tours, because the tour prices were higher by 4 times with our agent in UK. We were staying in a leading 5 star hotel in Dubai, we approached hotel’s travel desk, and they booked for a safari tour with a price of AED 275.

In afternoon around 3.30 we were taken by a mini bus!!!, quite old and noisy but it was fine for purpose. We asked the driver where the 4x4, the driver said we would get it in the desert. We were a total of 18 guests from various hotels in the bus, taken to a place after driving around 25 minutes then stopped for more than 30 minutes waiting for the 4x4 to go for the safari. We noticed there were another group already waiting to be taken for safari/camp before us.

Finally the 4x4 came we were taken directly to the safari camp within 6 minutes,  we reach the camp is very close to the road we can see vehicles were passing through the road close to the camp.It is funny we had different expectation, there was no safari. The camp was more like a camel farm..just basic. We got surprised as one among the participants of us already been to the safari.

My intension of writing my experience about the Desert Safari Dubai is to educate you, not to get cheated by the hotel front office or the travel desk.
It was not possible to accept what is being offered to us. We approached the manager in the camp, after having a long argument.. no result… finally we decided to call the Police, when the management realized that police is informed the matter, the camp management immediately taken us back to the hotel and asked to speak to the travel desk. We approached the travel desk they also refused to pay the money. Then the matter has gone to higher level management of the hotel, finally after a long fight… we got the full refund.

We spoke to the driver who took us back to the hotel as per him the travel desk is not a part of the hotel they leased the area and run by a small agent - the driver said the agent got no camp no jeep, all their business outsourced for AED 50 to the safari companies. He also said in Dubai Tourism Packages in Dubai there are 400 hotels out of which 50% of them they do the same thing. We noticed that the front office management fully involved with this looting, if someone approach them they give the contact of the company whom they get commission. Look at each of their profit made from innocent tourist.
